Dr. Keith L. Blauer is a board certified infertility specialist reproductive endocrinologist located in Salt Lake City, UT.  He was previously the Infertility Medical Director, Chief Executive Officer and President of Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) in Fairfax, Virginia and a practicing fertility doctor. GIVF is one of the largest fully integrated providers of infertility and genetics services in the world.

After spending 21 years east of the Mississippi River, he was excited to return to the intermountain region and become more involved in direct patient care, which he states is his “true love”.  Dr Blauer was raised in the farming community of Burley Idaho and graduated from Burley High School in 1973.  He is thrilled to be a practicing infertility specialist in Sandy Utah, a bedroom community of Salt Lake City.

He served as a missionary for the LDS church in the Japan Fukuoka Mission from 1974-1976. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Zoology at Brigham Young University in 1979 and then received a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Air Force to attend the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.  He was elected to AOA (Medical Honor Society) prior to graduation from the University of Washington in 1983.

Dr. Blauer completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Keesler USAF Medical Center in Biloxi Mississippi prior to his fertility doctor training. He completed his infertility specialist, reproductive endocrinology Fellowship subspecialty training at the Combined Federal Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 

During his fertility specialist fellowship he was actively involved in organized medicine and was the Armed Forces Junior Fellow District Chairman of the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists (ACOG).  He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. 

From 1989 to 1993, Dr. Blauer was the fertility doctor who directed the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility service at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio and established the first affiliated in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) program in the Department of Defense. The first patients that participated in both the IVF program and the GIFT program conceived. 

Upon completion of his military commitments, Dr Blauer joined Reproductive Endocrinology Associates and the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina.  He completed his MBA in 1996 with a certificate in Healthcare Administration from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business. During his business training, he focused on developing money back guarantee IVF programs for infertility patients.

In 1997, Dr Blauer joined the Genetics & IVF Institute as a Senior Reproductive Endocrinologist, Infertility Specialist in their internationally renowned infertility program. He was actively involved in their IVF, donor egg, donor embryo, reproductive surgery and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) programs.  He helped train fertility doctors and staff from several of the premier IVF programs in China and assisted in developing and opening an IVF Center in Harbin, China in 2002.

For five years he was the medical director and principal investigator of the MicroSort® FDA clinical trial testing the efficacy and safety of the preconception use of flow cytometers for separating “male and female” sperm for gender selection.

Dr. Blauer has been on the faculty of four medical schools including the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Wright State University (WSU), University of South Carolina (USC) and the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).  He is extremely pleased to return to the Salt Lake City Utah area to practice reproductive endocrinology/infertility.

He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI), the Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the Society of Reproductive Surgeons (SRS), The Endocrine Society and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.

Dr. Blauer has been happily married to Raye Jean Bosley since 1977. They have 6 children and 6 grandchildren. He has enjoyed many high adventure trips while working in the Scouting program and especially enjoys white water rafting and snow skiing at Alta.
